Saturday Etsy Shopping

Ahhhh…. Saturday, a great day for strolling, um, I mean clicking through the internet on Etsy for some fabulous finds!
On my fabulous shopping journey I stumbled across these beautiful must haves, so kick back, grab a cup of Joe and enjoy shopping with me!
The first item I found was from bienaimebeloved on Etsy with this Ethereal Head Piece Celestial heavens will open, as you wear this amazing piece. It features several hand rolled blooms in a sandy champagne and is set on an elastic band.( I can also attach the blooms to Natural looking vine wire if you prefer that look). Looking for a different color? I can custom make you one in your color choice.

I found this next item and fell in love with it instantly! This digital art photo is from

Size: Cup: 0,2l (8(fl. oz.), height: 7 cm (2.73″), diameter 9 cm (3,51″)Saucer: 15 cm (5,85″) – diameter. I used porcelain paint which is dishwasher safe, but I can’t guarantee the colors remain as vivid as they are now in the long run. So just a bit of hot water and soap will keep this bowl in good shape!

Moving right along to my favorite department, bath and beauty where I found this Juna Perfume Oil from KuhlWhip on Etsy

With fall approaching shopping can get a wee bit chilly, so I found this beautiful November Blue hand knit scarf by Tylerja AKA Jat*Art on Etsy Hand knit infinity scarf. Approx 34″ around. Beautiful icy blues, aqua and turquoise with a hint of teal. Super soft. Made of 98% Acrylic, 2% polyester yarn. Accented by crochet flowers and leaves.

I am a HUGE fan of Halloween, so when I saw this Autumn/Halloween Ring from LittleLadyIrish on Etsy I knew I had to share it with you! he Crow’s Nest
This is an original, unique piece of jewelry. Designed and handmade by me. Want to stand out this autumn? This ring is a beautiful conversation piece. Perfect for an amazing, autumn accessory or as halloween costume jewelry. It is very light weight and approx. 1 1/2 inches from the ring base to the top of the crows head. Ring base is a brass plated, filigree, size adjustable band.

I am always on the hunt for a conversation starter, this Caged Mini Disco Ball Pendant from JemsBySandi on Etsy fits the bill! With my newfound wire wrapping this cute little OOAK piece is silver wire wrap swirl free form with a floating rhinestone crystal bead inside! This piece is an inch and a half in length This piece can be purchased with or without the necklace silver plated or sterling – convo me and let me know.

Because I know you want to stay in fashion with this years feather trend, I found this gorgeous Hippie Headband by Mojo3777creations on Etsy
This line of hippie style headbands have been created with braided and beaded hemp rope. It is my most loved creation. I adore them so much, I think I will create one to sell and one to keep.
One end has been adorned with feathers and beads, while the other end has an alligator clip attached. You can wear it in many different ways, as a regular headband or hippie style. You can choose to have the feathers drape down the side or the back.
The headband stays in place, because you can adjust how tight you wear it. Just attach the alligator clip anywhere on the hemp rope. If you are like me, and have trouble wearing headbands because they slip off, you will love this. It is so comfortable and doesn’t slide out of your hair.
This particular listing is for a headband in harvest fall colors. The feathers are yellow, orange/red, and striped grizzlies. The hemp rope has been braided in a spiral braid and adorned with colorful beads all along the 24″ length.

I dont know about you, but shopping always makes me want chocolate, I found these scrumptious Rumpelstiltskins cookies from StoryBookArtifact on Etsy (Yes, I have actually had these delectable cookies and they are soooo good!)

I also stumbled upon this retro Mod Orange Stunning All Acetate Scarf from EcoFriendlyFreckles on Etsy. I love the bohemian feel this scarf has, its just stunning!!!A captivating accessory with breathtakingly intricate patterns of orange, green, gold, and blue; this vintage mod scarf is sure to complement your wardrobe and free-spirited personality! In the photos featured, the scarf is shown as a head scarf and as a lovely summer blouse!
This vintage scarf is in excellent condition considering it’s age; with only the slightest bit of wear in tiny spots near the edge of the scarf…these small spots are nearly unnoticeable. In the photos featured the scarf shows some wrinkles in the fabric…I assure you that when it arrives to you it will be wrinkle free!

I love jewelry that is different, and this next piece is just that! I fell in love with these initial pendant necklaces from FiredUpLadiesHammerInitial L Pendant Necklace made out of high fire paper clay. Handmade Ceramic Jewelry. The paper clay is made using old recycled egg cartons creating a bead that is light and sturdy. (Not nearly as heavy as you think!) Not a lot of breakage with this ceramic piece.

I LOVE purses, so when I saw this delightfully different tote from elektradesign I just had to share! This tote bag is made of tapestry/decor fabric with wonderful vintage ladies motives! It has black cotton lining with three interior pockets to hold your cell phone, keys, pencils and other daily essentials.

Meet Moriah from Mojo3777creations

Meet the artist behind Mojo3777creations, Moriah. Her Etsy shop is full of wonderful 70’s inspired items!

Tell us your personal name, business name, website and location?
My name is Moriah Jones, my business is mojo3777creations, I live in North Texas and work from home. My etsy shop is www.mojo3777creations.etsy.com and my blog is You can also find me on facebook.

What is your studio or workspace like, and how do you work in your studio?
My workspace is a mess, I have a table in the corner of my dining area in my kitchen. There you will find my sewing machine buried in feathers and beads. I had grand plans of organizing, but have not found the time to get it done. I think it will stay this way, until summer is over and my children get back in school.

How would you describe and think of your style, what kind of handmade items do you make and what type of materials do you prefer?
I love styles from the 60’s and 70’s. I wish I would have grown up in this era. I love my bell bottoms, I love my dashiki’s with flowing sleeves. I like to work with hemp and other natural materials such as cotton. In my shop right now, you will mostly find feather hair clips and barefoot sandals. I have many more items in the works, but these two things are keeping me quite busy for the summer. I love to create batik items, but have found this hard to do with my kids at home. I hate having a pot of hot wax and boiling water going when they are home. So I may not get much of that done until school starts back up.

What new directions do you hope to move in the future?
I am happy with the way my shop is going right now. I started out just looking for something to keep me busy while the kids were in school and my husband was working. Etsy has definitely done this for me. I am busier than I ever expected to be.

Do you have big plans, new ideas or designs you will be exploring soon?
I hope to be adding a lot more batiks soon. I want to expand beyond the dashikis, and do t-shirts, bandanas, maybe shoes, and what ever else I come up with.

What is your typical day like?

18 hours of Etsy…filled with cooking, cleaning, and running errands in between. Sometimes I get to create, while I am monitoring emails.

How do you work during the day in your studio, and what keeps you inspired and motivated?

I love to have music going while I am creating. I have all my supplies laid out in front of me and just get to work. When I stop long enough to produce some items, I usually create 5-6 pieces before I quit. I think the feedback on Etsy and support from my friends keeps me motivated. I am inspired to create things I like, my creations are a true reflection of my style.

Who are and are your mentors and inspirations?

My mother is very creative and artistic, I have learned a lot from her. We swap ideas and projects we are working on. My husband is my biggest inspiration. He keeps me going and is always very encouraging. He is definitely my biggest fan. Without his encouragement, I wouldn’t be doing this.

I noticed you work with many medias, do you create one piece from start to finish, or do you create various components and then the piece grows to completion separately?
Yes, I usually create one piece from start to finish. I like the satisfaction of completing something, and have little patience when it comes to waiting to get something done. I don’t like to work on projects that take days to complete. I want end results now. LOL

Are there things that you enjoy and do often without putting it off, and other things that aren’t your favorite and you delay doing them?

Actually, yes. Now that I am so busy with beads and feathers, I find myself not wanting to drag out my sewing machine. So if I get an order for a hat, I kind of growl about it. LOL When I finally get it done, I am always so happy with them, that I can’t take them out of my shop.

What sort of things do you prefer making and creating, what comes easily to you?

I guess everything I have in my shop is pretty easy to make. Sometimes I cuss at beads that are too small to string, or I may have an irritating time sewing, but usually everything goes pretty smooth. I love creating batiks, I like the feel of being covered in color and holding a paint brush.

What are the things you consider most important to do for your business and your creativity?

I want to portray a true reflection of myself. Keeping up this image is important to me. I like to be a helpful and attentive shop owner and provide the best customer service. I think it is important to be around all the time to answer any questions potential customers may have. I get email on my phone and am alerted immediately when someone has a question. I think this attention has resulted in sales, more than a few times.

What would you recommend for others Etsians who may just be getting started?

I think it is important to find a team, with caring members. People you can connect with. Everyone needs a mentor. I think you should find someone who will help answer your questions and show you the ropes. We were all new once, Etsy is a big lonely place when you don’t know what is going on…but once you figure it out, it can be the funnest place, with the best people. I have found so many wonderful people on Etsy, that I share so much in common with. Everyday, I am meeting someone new and getting closer to the one’s I already know.
Build treasuries, favorite shops and items, build your circle, join BNR’s, build connections with other shops, take advantage of every promotional opportunity you can. Start a blog and facebook fan page. Take part in a give away. Promote others and they will return the favor. Make yourself known. 🙂
It is a lot of work, you can’t just open your shop and wait for a sale, you’ll be waiting a long time.

It’s Thursday again, get ready to be thrilled with these Thumbs-up Treasures!

My first pick for this Thursday comes from Toocutecats on EtsytoocutecatsDiminutive and charming, like a miniature Court Bag you can carry in your hand. The interior, beautifully lined with Japanese Fabric, has a padded insert to protect all your pretty treasures.

My next pick for today comes from Phantasmphotography on Etsy I actually have some of this photographers fabulous work, and he is one of my absolute favorites! Phantasm Photography This photograph was taken in 2009 at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. I used a filter and my Smena-7 to take the shot- which is what gives it that dreamy look. The view is inside the hotel lobby, looking up at the umbrellas that are suspended from a beautiful glass dome ceiling.

My next featured pick comes from my fondness of koi, a handmade treasure from Starless on Etsy StarlessThree tiny koi fish play among water lilies in a pond of swirling blue filigree, atop a little wooden box.

Who wouldn’t love some handmade fabric baskets like these from granatina on Etsy?!?!granatinaThese baskets/bins are made of a soft touch cotton and lined with cotton canvas. You can use these baskets for storing and organizing various small items like accessories, knitting yarn, bread rolls or any dry groceries – with my friend we just call them “universal baskets”. The natural colors combined with a touch of orange are carefully chosed to put in tune a corner of your home.

Celebrate the arrival of summer with these adorable bird houses from Retropops on Etsy
RetropopsHere’s an adorable set of pedestal birdhouses! I’ve painted them bright pink, robin’s egg blue and spring green. They stand on top of off-white wooden candle holders that are lightly distressed. These are super-cute and will look great on your mantle or table!
The tallest one stands 13.5″ and the other two are 11.25″ tall. They’re for indoor use only.

Brighten up your wrist with this beautiful Golden Cherry Swirl fused glass bracelet from Intothelight on Etsyinto the lightThis is such an elegant bracelet with rich vibrant colors that glow and shimmer even with the slightest nuance of light. There are eleven glass stones that have a crinklized dichroic glass layered over a black base. A clear glass with an etched dichroic pattern is used to cap each stone, giving them an amazing metallic like shine and allows the underlying glass to show through. Please view each of the photos to see how the glass changes in appearance in different light. Each glass piece is securely bonded to a high quality sterling silver plated link bracelet with a sturdy fold-over clasp.

My last pick is due to my love of shoes from Studiojellyfish studiojellyfishYUMMY CUPCAKES! These heels are so cute that everyone who sees them can’t help but think you are sweet too! If you are sweet and know it these heels are perfect for you!
